Game Thoughts

A multi-hour rain delay for the day game at Wrigley Field did not make any difference in the Phillies in-ability to capitalize with runners on base. As a matter of fact, the bats have been absolutely silent. The fans are at a fever pitch for something to change in the organization. The casual fans have written them off until the potential postseason, and the lack of faith is draining the fanbase’s enthusiasm. The inept hitting is draining the will to live through 162 games. The team is at 500, and they have lost any fragment of the good start they had against the bottom basement teams. Simply put, this is DREADFUL to watch, and the fans are fed up. Fire Kevin Long. Fire Rob Thompson. DO SOMETHING because the team on the field is not.

Phillies don’t deserve a card spotlight

Due to the piss-poor play of the Phillies, I’m highlighting a card from the Cubs, which was pulled from a box of 2024 Bowman Blaster box.

The scan doesn’t pick up the shine on this card, but it’s a gorgeous card. A dynamic player for sure, a true athlete in the field it’s always nice to see up and coming players pushing the limits of the position. The card itself is a designated Rookie Card as well.

I was interested in when the Rookie of the Year Favorites inserts began, and I couldn’t find much information on the history of the inserts. I do wish there was more information with the releases on how they came to add the different inserts. According to Topps’ Ripped, here is an article which elaborates on the insert history:
