I didn’t even read the title fully haha
This one is on me. I saw a Chase Utley Bowman Chrome 2001 Rookie card on Ebay, and jumped at the chance. It might have been an ending soonest special, looking for deals around a $1 that are ending soon for Phillies cards. This jumped out and I put my max bid in, and I won it. I didn’t even read the title fully because in the title it says…..REPRINT
I wasn’t even upset or anything by it, I didn’t even check the Ebay listing to see what the verbiage was until just writing this, which has been weeks since I opened it.
2013 Bowman Blue Sapphire!
This is from 2013 Bowman Blue Sapphire. According to Baseball Cardpedia “2013 Bowman Blue Sapphire Best Players of All Time is a cross-brand insert featured in all 2013 Bowman-branded products. Each card is a Blue Sapphire Refractor reprint of the player’s first Bowman card.“
I am a big fan of Turn Back the Clock cards, and Super Veteran cards. Even the series they did of Pete Rose cards in 1986 Topps where they had his series of cards over the years I was a big fan of. I was about to go on a rant about Topps creating reprints, but not only is this a card in this special set, Chase Utley’s card is in the Platinum Series.
So this writeup has been a rollercoaster ride! Turns out I purchased a reprint, BUT it in fact is a 2013 Bowman Blue Sapphire Platinum Series Refractor Chase Utley. Nabbed this for under $1.00, and this was an absolute steal.
Make sure you read the listings folks! This was a fun writeup, and appreciating each card in the collection is what it is all about. This was a unique journey to get here, and the Ebay bargain bin approach is a fun one.
Until next time!
